Celebrate Easter at Festive Smoky Mountain Events
One of the best times to see the spectacular spring colors in the Smokies is around Easter. The National Park and surrounding area sparkles with new life now that the daffodils are blooming and lush green leaves have finally begun to peek through the trees. If you and your family are planning to take advantage of the spring colors and weather during the long Easter break, we have details about the best Smoky Mountain events that everyone in your family can enjoy.
Browse a Crafts Show
The Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community will be hosting an Easter Arts and Crafts Show from April 15-April 19. Held at the Gatlinburg convention center, this event will feature handmade finished goods, unique gifts and one-of-a-kind pieces available to browse and purchase. Local artisans and crafters will be on hand to provide demonstrations as well.
Show hours are 10:00am-5:00pm April 16-17, and 10:00am-6:00pm April 18-19.
Take a Wildflower Walk
Now that spring has arrived in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, another event is planned so locals and tourists can enjoy the beauty of the season with guided outdoor walks and educational classroom topics.
The 64th annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage runs the week before Easter, so, if your family is planning to be in the area from April 15-19, this is the perfect opportunity to learn and explore the National Park.
Although most of the 150 programs offered will take place in the park, some educational sessions will be held in the W.L. Mills Conference Center and the Arrowmont School of Arts.
