3 Tips on How to Get Around Using the Pigeon Forge Trolley

One of the many excellent benefits of staying at Cherokee Lodge Condos is being within walking distance of the Trolley Station at Patriot Park! This is the starting and ending point of all the Pigeon Forge trolley routes, which makes getting around a breeze without having to drive your own car! Here is how you can get around town easily by using the Pigeon Forge Trolley:

1. Learn the Trolley Routes

There are currently 7 Pigeon Forge Trolley routes that travel to and from Patriot Park so that you can reach any popular destination in the Smoky Mountains! In fact, there are more than 100 stops throughout Pigeon Forge and a portion of Sevierville. The North and South Parkway routes extend from the Governor’s Crossing area in the north to Pine Mountain Road at Traffic Light #6 in the South. You can also ride the trolley from Patriot Park to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center, Wears Valley and Dollywood’s Splash Country. If you are planning to visit Dollywood, the Dollywood Trolley departs continuously every 15 minutes and is a fantastic alternative to driving to the park! When heading back to Patriot Park from any destination, just wait at the trolley bear sign, and the trolley will be along shortly.

The Pigeon Forge Trolley is available for a nominal fee per rider, with individual fares paid each time that you board a trolley. Just be sure to have the exact fare because the trolley drivers cannot make change! The Pigeon Forge Trolley fares range from just $.50 to $.75, while children 3 and younger can ride for free. These low fares make the trolley one of the best bargains in town and allow you to avoid the headaches of traffic on the Parkway! For an even better deal, take advantage of the All Day Trolley Pass that is available from the Fun Time Trolley for only $2.50! This means you can hop on and hop off all day as many times as you want for one low price!

3. Know the Hours of Operation

The Pigeon Forge Trolley operates daily from 8:30 a.m. to midnight in early March through October, and then daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in November and December. Note that the service does not operate on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Parkway trolleys run every 20 to 25 minutes, while the Wears Valley trolleys depart every 40 to 45 minutes. The Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country trolleys run every 15 to 20 minutes. Keep in mind that the Dollywood trolley starts service 30 minutes before the park opens and runs in the evening until everyone is back at Patriot Park. Finally, the Gatlinburg Welcome Center trolleys run every 25 to 30 minutes. All of the times may vary due to traffic flow, holiday weekends and special events such as car shows.
