The coaster joins 11 other attractions in the Wildwood Grove section of the park, which is also home to a fictional resident wilderness explorer known as Ned Grove. When you’re ready for your ride on Big Bear Mountain, you’ll join Ned at the Adventure Outpost Base Camp and board his specially-outfitted, four-wheel drive SUVs for the ride of your life! Your mission is to search for the legendary Big Bear, and onboard audio enhances your journey with music and even announcements from Ned himself!

2. Big Bear Mountain Statistics

One of the things that coaster enthusiasts want to know most about Big Bear Mountain is the statistics of the ride! The most impressive thing about the new roller coaster is that it is nearly 4,000 feet long, making it the longest ride in Dollywood’s history! Big Bear Mountain is a family-friendly coaster that makes a perfect addition to the existing coaster lineup in the park and the minimum height requirement is just 39 inches! Don’t let the family-friendly term fool you though as the ride will still feature plenty of thrills, including several launches, a top speed of 48 miles per hour, and a breathtaking layout through the terrain!

3. Your Ticket to Ride

The only thing that you’ll need to ride Big Bear Mountain (other than courage!) is theme park admission! There are a variety of tickets and passes available, including single-day tickets, multi-day tickets, and season passes!
