1. Visit on an Overcast Day

The best time to visit Dollywood’s Splash Country is on an overcast summer day when they may even be rain in the forecast. Most folks tend to visit a water park on a hot and sunny afternoon, so on an overcast day there will be far fewer guests in the park! If you do happen to experience a little rain, most attractions will still be open and you will already be in your bathing suit! If the park operations are interrupted due to severe weather such as a thunderstorm and your visit is shortened, you can request a Rain Check at any ticket window. These tickets are valid until the end of the season so that you can return again at any point during your vacation!

2. Arrive Early

Be sure to arrive to the parking lot about 30 minutes prior to the official opening time of Dollywood’s Splash Country! This is the golden rule for any park visit, allowing you to be one of the first guests through the turnstiles to queue up for the most popular attractions! This means that you can ride top attractions such as the Big Bear Plunge, Fire Tower Falls, Raging River Rapids and the TailSpin Racer with virtually no lines! Try to avoid visiting the park on Saturdays when there is early entry for season passholders and the park is generally more crowded.

If you want to enjoy more time on your favorite attractions, consider purchasing the TimeSaver H20! This small wristband device allows you to reserve a position in line for many of the most popular attractions at Dollywood’s Splash Country. Simply schedule your slide at one of the 5 kiosks throughout the park and the waterproof wristband will indicate when it is time to return to the scheduled slide! While you are waiting in the virtual line, you are free to enjoy other attractions in the park, have a meal or browse some of the shops.
