The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is obviously a focal point of your group vacation. From Cherokee Lodge, you can see the beautiful mountains, so you can step outside and take in the mountain air and gaze into the treetops. Choose a day to go hiking and exploring. You’re only a few minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so you won’t have a far drive before or after a day of hiking.

Make sure, when you’re hiking with a group, you choose a trail that everyone will be able to master. Remember that you are only as fast as your slowest hiker. If you have very small children, don’t expect them to be able to hike a strenuous trail. In addition, make sure you pack lots of extra water and snacks, especially for kids! It is not recommended to drink the water from streams or waterfalls in the national park because it is contaminated with bacteria. For everyone’s safety, it’s best just to pack bottled water.

When you have a large group visiting Pigeon Forge, it can be complicated trying to save money on parking. There are all sorts of parking areas, but some of them can be costly. Unlike some Pigeon Forge vacation rentals, when you stay at Cherokee Lodge Condos, parking is completely free. Many groups choose to take only a couple of vehicles out with them when they are visiting the area, if they take any cars at all.
You can stay parked at Cherokee Lodge Condos for free, then catch the Pigeon Forge trolley from place to place. The nearest trolley stop is only a few steps away, on Old Mill Street. Every route stops at this spot, so you can go anywhere you want throughout Pigeon Forge. For a small cost of $2.50 per rider, you can get a full-day pass and ride the trolley anywhere you want throughout the entire day.
