This stellar attraction combines picturesque mountain scenery with the exhilarating fun of a roller coaster.

The Ride

Riders of the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster will board sleds that sit up to two people. Once you’re comfortably seated, you will begin an unforgettable journey along the mile long track through some of the most beautiful sections of the Great Smoky Mountains. Unlike most coasters, riders of the Alpine Coaster have complete control over how fast they want to go. Those with a need for speed will be able to reach a maximum of 27 miles per hour. Depending on your speed, the entire ride lasts between 7 and 8 minutes.

Hours, Rates and Location

The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is open daily from 10 am to 7:30 pm year round. The Coaster will even operate during rain and snow, excluding severe storms. Adult tickets for the ride cost $15 and children’s tickets cost $12. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster also offers special ticket packages. Four adult tickets can be purchased for $44 and four children’s tickets can be purchased for $32. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is located at 867 Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge.
